York chartered accountants Atkinsons have set their sights on helping local children who have suffered abuse and neglect.
The company recently raised £400 for the NSPCC, the UK’s leading children’s charity, through a clay pigeon shooting day at the Cotton Dale shooting ground at Staxton Wold.
Atkinsons’ Managing Partner Peter Atkinson said: “We’ve chosen the NSPCC as our charity this year and aim to raise funds to help their FULL STOP campaign locally. About 25 clients and colleagues took part in the clay pigeon shooting competition day. Our guests enjoyed a fun packed event and the charity benefited to the tune of £400.”
The trophy for the best shot of the day went to Geoff Schofield of NatWest with the team score being hotly contested too.
Deborah Rack, the NSPCC FULL STOP Manager for the North and North West, said: “It was a fantastic fundraising effort and we can’t thank Atkinsons enough.
“Their fundraising efforts will make a real difference to the lives of the children we help. The NSPCC has two teams based in York. The domestic abuse team offers help and support to women and children who have suffered domestic abuse and the therapeutic team provides a therapeutic service for children who have been abused.” |
